Gastroenterology

Gastrointestinal system helps the body absorb essential elements, which are required for growth, from the diet. Disorders of the gastrointestinal system involve organs such as the stomach, the small and large intestine, the rectum, the liver, the gall bladder, and the pancreas. Acid reflux, dyspepsia, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal bloating, loss of appetite, loose motion, and abdominal pain are prominent symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders. These symptoms can be treated by the use of antacids, antidiarrheals, antibiotics, anti-ulcerants, liver tonics, digestives, antiemetic, and electrolytes. A surgery may be needed for more severe and anatomical abnormalities.
