As part of its initiatives under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and RPG Life Sciences Limited (RPGLS) vision to drive ‘holistic empowerment’ of the community around the local vicinity of our plants and the society at large, we have undertaken the following projects through RPG Foundation in accordance with CSR policy of the Company, read with Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013.

The program aims at improving learning outcomes in classrooms, by helping Government school teachers improve their teaching practices and strengthen their subject matter knowledge. The program equips the teachers with modern and innovative pedagogies, and behavioural  techniques. The interactive training program  is designed to bring about a change in conducting classroom sessions, thereby ensuring a conducive and safe environment to learn and grow.

The program utilizes a three-pronged approach for training, wherein the teachers are engaged through:

  • Teachers’ training workshops,
  • Weekly Peer learning sessions (Self Help Groups), and
  • a digital tool kit (Pehlay Akshar Mobile App)

to support training and provide continuous learning opportunities. Through this program, RPG Life Sciences has supported the training of over 290 government school teachers in Mumbai.

Project Swayam Health aims at imparting training to women from less privileged background to be trained in skills that will enable them to procure jobs in the healthcare sector. Under this project (formerly known as Sanjeevani), we also provide opportunities for women and young girls to take up alternate livelihood in the healthcare space. Through our training partners, specialised courses like General Duty Assistants, Patient Care Assistants etc. are imparted to the beneficiaries. Special focus is given towards placing these trained women so that they can be economically empowered. We have trained more than 400 women to take up employment as Healthcare professionals since the inception of this project.

Project Swayam Drive focuses on training women and youth from marginalized backgrounds for careers in commercial driving. With a special focus on women, it helps them build careers in the traditionally male dominated sector

The program currently focuses on 2-wheeler driving, enabling careers as delivery agents in the retail sector. The course gives women and youth comprehensive training in driving, mechanics, spoken English, customer interaction, grooming, first aid and self-defence skills. RPG Foundation, through implementation partners, helps the trainees get driving licenses and facilitates placements in jobs.

The initiative was started in FY 20-21 at Navi Mumbai Location, and currently 50 beneficiaries have completed their training in two-wheeler driving and would be provided with employment soon.

Project Swayam Digital focuses on building careers for the underprivileged communities in the digital sector. Currently two courses are being undertaken as a part of Project Swayam Digital i.e. Diploma in Digital Marketing and Diploma in Hardware and Networking.  The courses are for three month which includes a blend of theory and practical sessions. After successful completion of the course, the beneficiaries are also provided with employment in the IT Sector.  We aim to provide training to 160 beneficiaries in FY 21-22 at Navi Mumbai Location.

Our COVID 19 Response initiatives included distribution of food and medicines to our employees and communities in and around our plant location.
